KUALA LUMPUR (July 28): Here is a brief recap of some business news and corporate announcements that made the headlines on Tuesday:

Favelle Favco Bhd (KL:FAVCO) said its unit Favelle Favco Cranes (USA) Inc has been named as one of 15 defendants in a lawsuit filed in New York seeking US$52.5 million (RM214.8 million) in damages over a crane incident which made headlines in July 2023. The crane manufacturer said FFC USA was served with a summons on July 23 in an action brought by insurance company Employers Insurance Company of Wausau after compensating 555 Tenth Avenue Leasehold Condominium for losses related to the incident. The claim relates to losses from a crane collapse in Midtown Manhattan on July 26, 2023, when the boom of a 45-storey crane carrying 16 tonnes of concrete fell onto a nearby building before crashing onto the street. — Favelle Favco’s US unit named in US$52.5m New York suit over 2023 crane collapse

Net profit rose nearly fivefold to RM13.9 million from RM2.8 million a year earlier. Revenue for the three months ended June 30, 2026 (2QFY2026) climbed to the strongest level in nearly five years, with a 35.4% increase to RM92.4 million from RM68.2 million. Pipes-and-fittings maker Pantech Global Bhd (KL:PGLOBAL) posted record revenue in the recently-ended quarter, while remaining optimistic of sustaining its momentum. Revenue in the first quarter ended May 31, 2026 (1QFY2027) was RM159.68 million, a 27% increase when compared to the RM125.63 million posted in the same quarter last year, thanks to higher sales volume and average selling prices. Net profit was 36% higher year-on-year at RM16.36 million, from RM12.02 million. Demand across its key end-user industries is expected to remain resilient, supported by ongoing industrial activities and infrastructure investments. Country View Bhd’s (KL:CVIEW) net profit rose 15.3% to RM21.1 million for the three months ended May 31, 2026 (2QFY2026), up from RM18.3 million a year earlier, as a sharp decline in cost of sales, coupled with lower marketing and finance costs, and the sale of a commercial land parcel more than offset weaker property sales. It also attributed the higher earnings to the progress of work on the units sold for Aurora Avenue three-storey semi-detached shops at Aurora Sentral in Iskandar Puteri, Johor. Revenue, however, fell 18.9% to RM83.4 million from RM102.8 million due to a lower number of properties sold during the quarter. OGX Group Bhd's (KL:OGX) net profit for the financial year ended May 31, 2026 (FY2026) rose 51.2% to RM23.15 million from RM15.31 million,  driven by stronger profit margins and higher revenue from completing more IT infrastructure projects. Revenue for FY2026 also jumped 61.46% to RM284.67 million from RM176.31 million a year ago, driven primarily by the IT infrastructure solutions segment — which contributed 77.3% of total revenue — following an increase in completed projects. LYC Healthcare Bhd (KL:LYC) said it might miss the July 31 deadline to issue its 2026 annual report, which would in turn result in the trading suspension of its shares.
