Public Bank and Public Islamic Bank offer flood relief assistance for affected customers in Sabah and Sarawak

KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 31): Public Bank Bhd (KL:PBBANK) and Public Islamic Bank have announced the extension of repayment relief for customers impacted by the ongoing floods in Sabah, Sarawak, and other flood-affected regions designated as flood disaster areas by the National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma).

The relief measures include: 

  • Repayment deferment: A deferment of up to six months on monthly instalments for various loan and financing facilities, including home financing, hire purchase, credit cards for individual customers, and SME loans for affected businesses.  

  • Waiver of charges: A waiver for charges related to the replacement of banking documents, such as lost or damaged bank cards, passbooks, and fixed deposits/term deposit-i receipts.  

  • Insurance claims processing: Public Bank has collaborated with its subsidiary, Lonpac Insurance Bhd, to expedite the claims process for customers who have suffered losses covered under their insurance policies. 

Public Bank is also a participating financial institution for Bank Negara Malaysia’s disaster relief facility.
