KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 2): CTOS Digital Bhd (KL:CTOS) said on Monday that all credit reporting services affected by a cybersecurity breach have been restored following the implementation of remediation measures and enhanced security controls.
The credit reporting agency said the restored services, including CTOS Score and reports related to the Central Credit Reference Information System (CCRIS), are now available and operating as intended.
In a bourse filing, CTOS said additional measures had been implemented to strengthen its cybersecurity controls, which will continue to be monitored and enhanced.
It added that all affected environments had been secured, with security assessments and independent validations completed to support the restoration of services.
"The company assures its shareholders, customers, business partners and other stakeholders that it remains committed to conducting its business in a responsible, transparent and compliant manner," it said.
CTOS first disclosed the cybersecurity incident on Sept 23, saying unauthorised access had occurred in an environment supporting its consumer business. Some files containing a limited amount of consumer information were accessed, although the company did not specify the personal data involved.
On Oct 13, the group said it estimated the breach would reduce its financial year ending Dec 31, 2026 (FY2026) profit after tax and minority interests (Patami) by RM12 million and revenue by RM16 million. The estimates were based on the assumption that some services would remain unavailable until the third week of October.
The incident also weighed on its share price, which subsequently fell to a record low of 36 sen on Oct 19.
For the first half of FY2026, CTOS' net profit rose 15.63% to RM41.16 million from RM35.6 million a year earlier, while revenue increased 8.63% to RM168.46 million from RM155.07 million, driven by continued growth in both its domestic and international operations.
CTOS shares rose four sen or 10.26% to 43 sen at Monday's midday break, giving the group a market capitalisation of RM950.84 million.
