KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 28): The King, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar, and the Queen, Raja Zarith Sofiah on Monday expressed their condolences on the passing of the late Tun Dr Hasmah Mohd Ali.

In a post on Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar Facebook page, the King and Queen prayed that the deceased be blessed by Allah SWT and placed among the righteous and the faithful.

The King and Queen also prayed that the family of the deceased be granted strength, fortitude, and patience in facing the loss of their loved one.

Hasmah, the wife of former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, passed away at the National Heart Institute (IJN) on Monday morning.

News of her passing was confirmed by her son, Tan Sri Mokhzani Mahathir, when contacted by Bernama on Monday.

Hasmah breathed her last at the age of 100 and is survived by seven children.
