PUTRAJAYA (Aug 27): A former chairman of Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) and a former secretary-general of the Treasury arrived at the Magistrate's Court here on Thursday for remand proceedings related to the investigation following the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) report on the institution.
Both men, in their 60s, arrived at 9.31am wearing the orange attire of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).
Also seen was a former TH chief executive officer, who had previously been remanded on Aug 21.
On Wednesday (Aug 26), MACC chief commissioner Datuk Seri Abd Halim Aman confirmed that the two men were detained at 4pm after presenting themselves at the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya to assist with the investigation.
The TH RCI report, made public on July 29, documented various management and operational weaknesses involving the institution between 2014 and 2020 and identified several problematic investments requiring a forensic audit.
The report also highlighted evidence of suspicious transactions and the concealment of information.
