
KUALA LUMPUR (May 28): AmBank Islamic Bhd has extended a RM70 million loan Sunview Group Bhd (KL:SUNVIEW), through its wholly owned subsidiary Fabulous Sunview Sdn Bhd, for it to build a 29.99-megawatt solar power plant in Sungai Petani, Kedah.
The contract, which is valued at RM98.27 million, was awarded by Dayasinar Energy Sdn Bhd.
Under the contract, Fabulous Sunview will undertake the design, procurement, erection, connection, commissioning and testing as well as supply of equipment for the construction of the ground-mounted photovoltaic solar generation facility.
Dayasinar Energy Sdn Bhd is primarily involved in the renewable energy sector and the development of solar power projects.
“We would like to extend our appreciation to AmBank for placing their trust in Sunview. The financing facilities provided play an important role in supporting the rollout of our solar project under the Corporate Green Power Programme (CGPP) scheme,” said Sunview Group’s group executive director and group chief executive officer Ong Hang Ping.
He added, ”With this support, we are able to continue contributing to Malaysia’s energy transition and contribute to a greener and more sustainable future.”
At market close on Wednesday, shares in Sunview Group closed at 38 sen, valuing the company at RM215.7 million.
