KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 20): Sunview Group Bhd (KL:SUNVIEW) has secured a RM45.04 million contract for the engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) of a solar photovoltaic (PV) facility.

The EPCC contract was awarded by Quantum Sustainable Energy Sdn Bhd to Fabulous Sunview Sdn Bhd, Sunview’s wholly-owned subsidiary.

Quantum Sustainable Energy is principally engaged in operation of electric generation facilities.

The contract involves the development of a solar PV energy generation facility with a total capacity of 10.58 megawatt-peak (MWp) at University Malaysia Sabah (UMS) in Kota Kinabalu.

Under the EPCC Contract, Sunview will provide management, design, and EPCC services for the solar PV facility at UMS. The project will be executed in two phases, with phase one covering a capacity of 9.36MWp and phase two encompassing 1.22MWp.

In a statement, Sunview group executive director-cum-group chief executive officer Ong Hang Ping said the project will serve as a stepping stone towards expanding green energy solutions into more campuses, fostering a culture of environmental responsibility for future generations.

“Upon completion, the solar PV facility will reduce carbon emissions and contribute to a cleaner environment in line with SDGs. We hope this initiative will inspire other educational institutions to adopt renewable energy solutions, creating a growing network of eco-friendly campuses and advancing Malaysia’s clean energy agenda,” he added.

Sunview shares gained 0.5 sen at 41 sen on Thursday, giving it a market capitalisation of RM233 million. The stock is trading at a trailing 12-month price-earning ratio of 24.4 times, according to ASKEdge.
