The Edge Malaysia Best Managed & Sustainable Property Awards (BMSPA) is the first of its kind, recognising real estate that is sustainable and managed with excellence.

The awards aim to raise the bar on property management practices and sustainable real estate in Malaysia by benchmarking them against the best in class globally. Nippon Paint Malaysia has been a sponsor of BMSPA since the inception of the awards in 2017.

Expressing his delight with the partnership, The Edge Media Group publisher and CEO Datuk Ho Kay Tat says: “On behalf of The Edge Malaysia, I would like to thank Nippon Paint for its partnership with us. We hope it has found the partnership a fruitful one. This year, we saw a record number of submissions, including from Sabah and Sarawak. We thank Nippon Paint for supporting us in our journey to raise the standards and quality of property management in the country and therefore improve the quality of living and workspaces.”

Nippon Paint (M) Sdn Bhd general manager Tay Sze Tuck says, as a total construction and coating solutions provider that offers a total compatible system for every quality and beautiful finishing from bare to finish, Nippon Paint ensures a comprehensive approach to diverse construction requirements and needs for construction and maintenance projects of all scales and complexities.

Tay says: “Aligning with the objective of The Edge Malaysia Best Managed & Sustainable Property Awards 2024, we truly believe we can together assist the properties of Malaysian real estate stakeholders to be designed, built and maintained sustainably for both quality of living as well as environment.”

He adds that selecting suitable construction materials for building sustainability is essential because it can contribute to environmental impact, energy efficiency, improved indoor environments, waste reduction and lower carbon emissions.

To that end, Nippon Paint is constantly innovating environmental and sustainable solutions for the construction industry, contributing to the overall sustainability and energy efficiency of buildings with low-volatile organic compound coatings, heat island effect coatings and waterproofing systems.

The paint manufacturer also believes maintenance plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality of property management, as it preserves and enhances the reliability of a building as well as prolongs its lifespan, leading to an increase in the value of the property.

Tay says: “To ease building refurbishment, Nippon Paint continues to push innovation boundaries through Total Coating & Construction Solutions — innovative refurbishment solutions that consist of repainting, re-waterproofing and re-flooring.”

The audited results of BMSPA 2024 will be announced at the awards ceremony on July 15 and the full report will be published on July 29.
