EVENING 5: Panasonic says it is shutting down only two manufacturing units

1. Panasonic Manufacturing Malaysia Bhd said it has shut down two product manufacturing departments at the Shah Alam 1 plant, but has no plans to cease operations in Malaysia.

2. Former Green Packet Bhd group managing director Puan Chan Cheong has been declared bankrupt by the Kuala Lumpur High Court.

3. Former JP Morgan Chase Bank Bhd banker, Nurjesmi Mohd Nashir, has been appointed as the new chief executive officer of Affin Hwang Investment Bank Bhd. 

4. Sarawak Consolidated Industries Bhd will be holding an extraordinary general meeting on June 28 to vote on the removal of three directors, including Noor Azri Noor Azerai.

5. Synergy House Bhd ended its first day on the ACE Market at 35 sen, down 18% from its initial public offering price of 43 sen.
