KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 29): HeiTech Padu Bhd (KL:HTPADU) said it is no longer collaborating with Zetrix AI Bhd (KL:ZETRIX) on the RM1.05 billion National Integrated Immigration System (NIISe) project, after both parties mutually agreed not to extend their teaming agreement.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia on Thursday, HeiTech Padu clarified an earlier report by The Edge Malaysia titled “HeiTech Padu: Collaboration with Zetrix AI for NIISe project lapsed”, published on Oct 26, 2026.

The company said the teaming agreement, signed in April 2024, was intended as a temporary arrangement to explore opportunities in providing information technology services in Malaysia. The agreement was valid for one year.

A supplementary agreement signed in August 2025 outlined the parties’ respective roles and responsibilities. Under the arrangement, Zetrix AI was to provide front-end technology solutions, while HeiTech Padu would handle back-end systems for projects jointly identified by both parties. The agreement did not come with a validity period

HeiTech Padu said in the filing the teaming agreement had since lapsed. However, it did not specify when the agreement lapsed, and no separate Bursa announcement confirming its expiry was found before Thursday’s clarification.

The clarification follows an Oct 26 report in The Edge Malaysia weekly that the proposed collaboration had not materialised and the agreement had lapsed.

In an August 2025 filing, Zetrix AI had said immigration-related services under NIISe were being provided through its commercial arrangements with HeiTech Padu.

The latest clarification comes after Zetrix AI disposed of its entire 16.9% stake in HeiTech Padu, comprising 27.5 million shares, through a direct business transaction in September for an estimated RM27.5 million.

HeiTech Padu secured the NIISe contract in October 2024 for RM892.2 million. The contract value was subsequently increased to RM1.05 billion.

The project aims to modernise Malaysia’s immigration system by integrating immigration services and border controls into a single platform, replacing ageing systems used by the Immigration Department.

HeiTech Padu shares closed unchanged at 90 sen on Thursday, valuing the company at RM146.7 million.
