KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 15): HeiTech Padu Bhd (KL:HTPADU) has secured a RM19.87 million contract extension from the Immigration Department to continue maintaining the Malaysian Immigration System (MyIMMs) for another two years.
In a bourse filing on Thursday, the information technology services provider said the extension will run from Feb 18, 2027, to Feb 17, 2029. The contract value includes an 8% sales and service tax.
The extension comes as Malaysia works towards implementing the National Integrated Immigration System (NIISe), also undertaken by HeiTech Padu, which is intended to replace MyIMMs — the country's ageing immigration platform that has been in operation since 1993.
The latest MyIMMs maintenance extension will thus extend beyond the Home Ministry's previously stated October 2028 timeline for NIISe's nationwide expansion. The ministry had previously said MyIMMs would need to remain operational alongside NIISe during the transition to prevent disruptions to immigration services.
This marks the third extension of HeiTech Padu's MyIMMs maintenance contract since it was first awarded the job in March 2021 for RM33.92 million, covering a three-year period until February 2024.
The contract was subsequently extended for one year in March 2024 for RM13.11 million, followed by another two-year extension worth RM28.26 million in January 2025, which is due to expire on Feb 17, 2027.
HeiTech Padu said the additional contract is expected to contribute positively to its earnings and net assets per share for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2027 (FY2027) and throughout the contract period.
HeiTech Padu was awarded the NIISe project in October 2024 for RM892.2 million, with the contract value subsequently raised to RM1.05 billion following an expansion of its scope.
In July, the Home Ministry disclosed that NIISe was 29.9% complete as of June 26, 2026, slightly behind its scheduled progress of 31%.
The ministry said the NIISe project would be implemented in three phases between March 2026 and March 2027, before being expanded nationwide by October 2028.
At market close on Thursday, HeiTech Padu’s shares were flat at 89.5 sen, which gives it a market value of RM145.9 million. Year to date, the counter has dropped by 47.35%.
