KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 20): Attorney General Tan Sri Mohd Dusuki Mokhtar has confirmed that Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency director general Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain will face charges over the alleged assault of two policemen at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).

Speaking to the media, Dusuki confirmed that Shuhaily will be charged under Section 323 of the Penal Code, which pertains to voluntarily causing hurt to lower-ranked officers.

The AG also confirmed that Shuhaily will be charged with two separate charges at the Sepang Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.

This issue went viral with CCTV footage showing Shuhaily allegedly reprimanding individuals at KLIA Terminal 1. Addressing the matter later, Shuhaily said that he was ready to face any outcome following the leaked footage.

On Oct 17, Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said the Attorney General's Chambers (AGC) had returned the investigation papers to the police for further action.

He said the AGC had requested several improvements to the investigation papers before deciding on the next course of action.
