KOTA BHARU (Oct 8): The Public Service Department will consider any decision made by the Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC) regarding the incident involving Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) director general Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain at Terminal 1 of Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).
Public Service Department director general Tan Sri Dr Wan Ahmad Dahlan Abdul Aziz said Attorney General Tan Sri Mohd Dusuki Mokhtar would determine whether there is a case for further action based on the findings of the investigation that had been submitted.
“The investigation has been completed and the findings have been submitted to the AGC, and the attorney general will determine whether there is a case or not,” he told reporters after the Santuni Pesara programme in Telipot here on Thursday.
Wan Ahmad Dahlan said his department is now awaiting the AGC’s decision on the matter and could not comment further as the case had gone through the police investigation process.
Wan Ahmad Dahlan said any further action could only be determined after the attorney general's decision based on the investigation findings received.
On Monday, Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Mohd Khalid Ismail was reported to have said that the investigation was conducted by the Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department under Section 323 of the Penal Code, namely the offence of voluntarily causing hurt, pain, disease or physical weakness to another person.
Mohd Khalid said that so far, statements had been recorded from 25 witnesses to assist in the investigation into the incident that occurred on Sept 28.
Previously, the media reported that Mohd Shuhaily had left it to the government to decide on any action that might be taken following a viral video showing him reprimanding an individual at KLIA Terminal 1.
Mohd Shuhaily said the matter had been brought to the attention of the highest levels of government and the Home Ministry, and that he is prepared to accept any decision regarding the issue.
