KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 5): Jati Tinggi Group Bhd (KL:JTGROUP) has secured two contracts from Tenaga Nasional Bhd (KL:TENAGA) (TNB) worth a combined RM15.7 million for underground cable works in Selangor and a submarine power cable monitoring system in Perlis.
The larger contract, worth RM13.44 million, was awarded to Jati Tinggi’s wholly-owned subsidiary Jati Tinggi Holding Sdn Bhd for the installation, testing and commissioning of 11kV underground cables and related accessories for TNB’s distribution network in Selangor.
The contract will run for 365 days from the issuance of the start work notice, Jati Tinggi said in a bourse filing on Monday.
Separately, Jati Tinggi Holding and Ventura IOT Sdn Bhd secured a RM2.27 million contract from TNB through an unincorporated joint venture to install a distributed acoustic sensing (DAS) system for TNB’s 132kV submarine power cable system between Kuala Perlis and Teluk Apau on Langkawi.
Jati Tinggi Holding holds a 51% interest in the joint venture, while Ventura IOT owns the remaining 49%.
The RM2.27 million contract is expected to be completed within 270 days from a commencement date to be determined later.
Jati Tinggi managing director Datuk Wira Lim Yeong Seong said the larger contract would strengthen the group’s core underground cable business, while the DAS project would extend its capabilities into specialised monitoring applications for high-voltage submarine power cable infrastructure.
“We view these awards as another opportunity to broaden our technical capabilities as Malaysia’s power infrastructure becomes increasingly complex,” Lim said in a separate press release.
“We will continue to build our strong track record with TNB and pursue opportunities across underground cabling, high-voltage infrastructure and related power-system solutions.”
The group said the two contracts bring its contract wins for the financial year to date to RM560.3 million, while its unbilled order book stands at RM1.1 billion.
Prior to the latest awards, Jati Tinggi had secured three contracts from TNB and its subsidiary so far in 2026, comprising a RM79.86 million underground cable job for a data centre in Pasir Gudang, Johor, a RM69.49 million power infrastructure project in Tumpat, Kelantan, and a RM27.5 million hydroelectric dam enhancement contract in Perak.
Shares in Jati Tinggi closed four sen or 2.88% lower at RM1.35 on Monday, valuing the group at RM597.95 million.
