KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 26): Auto parts supplier MCE Holdings Bhd (KL: MCEHLDG) said it has secured RM54.28 million worth of contracts to supply automotive electronics and mechatronic components to Perodua.
The 40-month contracts, awarded to its wholly owned unit Multi-Code Electronics Industries (M) Bhd, are expected to generate RM54.28 million in revenue, with an estimated investment cost of RM4.95 million, MCE said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia on Wednesday.
Supply is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of the financial year ending July 31, 2027 (4QFY2027), with production to be carried out at MCE's newly launched Auto Hub in Serendah, Selangor.
Components under the contracts include an audio display, reverse camera and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS)-related components for an internal combustion engine (ICE) model.
MCE said the project marks its first vehicle audio display and ADAS-related components project for an ICE vehicle, building on its existing capabilities in infotainment systems for electric vehicles.
Group managing director Datuk Wira Dr Goh Kar Chun said the contracts expand MCE's product range as the group progressively ramps up production and capacity utilisation at the MCE Auto Hub.
“We remain committed to working closely with Perodua to drive greater localisation of automotive electronics and systems, supporting the government's aspiration to build a more competitive automotive ecosystem and position Malaysia as a regional hub for next-generation vehicles,” he said in a separate statement.
Shares of MCE closed one sen or 0.66% higher at RM1.53, valuing the company at RM233.84 million.
