KUALA LUMPUR (July 16): Telecommunications infrastructure installer Silver Ridge Holdings Bhd (KL:SRIDGE) has appointed five new directors following the resignation of six board members as part of its succession planning and leadership transition.

The appointments took effect on Thursday (July 16), according to the group’s bourse filing.

Silver Ridge’s new appointments follow the resignation of six directors, including group managing director Datuk Khoo Yik Chou, deputy group managing director Syauqat Mohd Suhaimi, executive director Syakur Mohd Suhaimi, and three independent directors, as part of the company’s succession planning and leadership transition on June 26, 2026.

Executive director Vincent Gan Kean Cheang, 44, was appointed group managing director on June 30, 2026, while Mohd Fais Mohd Hamdan, 40, was named chief operating officer on the same day. Gan is also a substantial shareholder of Silver Ridge, with a 5.522% stake in the company.

Silver Ridge’s new board appointments include directors with experience across hospitality, property, construction, public administration, engineering, legal and semiconductor industries.

Among the new appointees is Nigel Law Hun Chuen, 37, who joins as a non-independent non-executive director. He brings experience across hospitality, property investment, branding, advertising, and construction. He has expertise in developing strategies to improve operational performance and profitability.

Law currently holds leadership roles including managing director of Pierfront Sdn Bhd and Hyperise Builder Sdn Bhd, chief executive officer of Plan C Patisserie Sdn Bhd, and chief financial officer of Kota Cornwallis Dine & Coffee Sdn Bhd. He is also involved as an adviser and founder in several other businesses.

The company also appointed four independent non-executive directors.

James Koh Siaw Heong, 44, who has over 20 years of experience in public administration, policy, corporate strategy, investment and business development, including roles in government agencies such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Matrade.

Dr Ong Chin Yee, 44, a geotechnical specialist with more than a decade of experience in building foundation design and construction.

Lim Soo Zee, 39, an advocate and solicitor with 14 years of experience in corporate disputes, construction law, insolvency and civil litigation.

Tan Kok Chin, 52, who has 25 years of experience in the semiconductor and machinery industries.

Besides Gan, chairman and independent non-executive director Tengku Shahrain Shah Tengku Sulaiman Shah and independent director Neo Chen Yee remain from the earlier board. 

As at market close on Thursday, Silver Ridge shares were up half a sen or 2.94% at 17.5 sen, valuing the company at RM71.7 million.
