KUALA LUMPUR (July 7): Master Tec Group Bhd (KL:MTEC) has secured a one-year extension of its cable supply contract with Tenaga Nasional Bhd (KL:TENAGA), with the optional extension valued at RM109.54 million.

In a Bursa Malaysia filing, the industrial wire and cable manufacturer said that under the extension, its wholly-owned subsidiary Master Tec Wire & Cable Sdn Bhd will continue supply underground cables and conductors of various sizes for TNB's distribution network division.

The extended contract will run for one year from Aug 10.

The orginal contract was awarded in February 2025 at RM107.75 million for a one-year period, with an option to extend for a further year. In January, Master Tec said TNB had exercised an option to increase the contract value by RM32.86 million, bringing the total value of the original contract to RM142.4 million following earlier addendums.

At market close on Tuesday, Master Tec’s shares ended flat at 98.5 sen, which gives it a market capitalisation of RM1 billion. Year to date, the stock is down by 12.83%.
