
KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 6): Master Tec Group Bhd (KL:MTEC) announced that Tenaga Nasional Bhd (KL:TENAGA) has exercised an option to increase the value of its existing cable supply contract by RM32.86 million.
In a bourse filing Tuesday, Master Tec said Tenaga exercised its right on Jan 6 to request the optional value under the contract with the group’s wholly-owned Master Tec Wire & Cable Sdn Bhd. This raised the total contract value to RM142.4 million from RM109.54 million.
The contract value was previously adjusted following addendums entered into on April 2 and Nov 10, 2025, said Master Tec.
Master Tec Wire & Cable first secured the contract from Tenaga in February 2025, valued at RM107.75 million, for the supply and delivery of underground cables and conductors of various sizes for Tenaga’s distribution network. The contract was awarded for a one-year period, with an option to extend for another year.
Shares in Master Tec closed unchanged at RM1.13 on Tuesday, valuing the group at RM1.15 billion.
