KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 3): Credit scoring firm CTOS Digital Bhd (KL:CTOS) has appointed Tan Ming Yew as its new chief financial officer (CFO), effective Oct 13.

Tan, 43, replaces Chiam Hsing Chee, who stepped down on Sept 28 due to personal commitments abroad, after serving more than two years.

A chartered financial analyst and chartered accountant, Tan has over 20 years of experience in finance, banking and payments. He held leadership roles at Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Bhd, Payments Network Malaysia Sdn Bhd (PayNet) and AmBank Group (KL:AMBANK), according to CTOS Digital's bourse filing.

Tan holds a direct interest in 40,000 ordinary shares in CTOS Digital.

CTOS Digital has come under the spotlight recently following a growing vacuum in its top management. Besides Chiam’s exit, group CEO Erick Hamburger has also stepped down effective Sept 30.

Non-independent director Loh Kok Leong is temporarily filling the CEO role while the company searches for a permanent replacement.

Shares of CTOS closed 1.5 sen or 1.6% higher at 96 sen on Friday, valuing the company at RM2.22 billion. Year to date, the stock has fallen 20%.
