KUALA LUMPUR (April 3): Loss-making LYC Healthcare Bhd’s (KL:LYC) chief financial officer (CFO) Chong Sook Peng has resigned, with effect from May 30, 2025.
In a bourse filing on Thursday, Chong said that she is stepping down to pursue other personal goals.
According to the company’s most recent annual report, Chong, 53, was appointed CFO on March 1, 2024. Prior to joining LYC Healthcare, she worked at Astro Malaysia Holdings Bhd (KL:ASTRO).
Chong’s resignation follows the appointment of a new external auditor on Feb 12, 2025.
Crowe Malaysia PLT was appointed after Messrs Baker Tilly Monteiro Heng PLT resigned as the company’s external auditors on Feb 3, 2025 due to an inability to agree on audit fees.
Listed on the ACE Market of Bursa Malaysia, LYC Healthcare operates a range of services, including confinement homes, childcare centres, senior living homes, and family clinics. The company is also involved in the cosmetics and aesthetics sector.
LYC Healthcare has reported annual losses since 2012. For the third quarter ended Dec 31, 2024 (3QFY2025), the group recorded a net loss of RM8.69 million compared with RM10.26 million a year ago.
At the closing bell, LYC Healthcare shares were up half a sen or 7.7% at seven sen on Thursday, valuing the group at RM50 million. The stock is down 26.32% this year.
