KUALA LUMPUR (March 24): Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering Holdings Bhd (KL:MHB) announced on Monday that it has secured a contract from Vestigo Petroleum Sdn Bhd to undertake an engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning (EPCIC) project.

In a statement, MHB said its subsidiary, Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering Sdn Bhd (MMHE), will be responsible for fabricating two wellhead platforms — Irong Timur and Berantai East — each weighing approximately 1,500 metric tons.

Once completed, these facilities will be deployed offshore Peninsular Malaysia to support the field development plans of Vestigo, a wholly owned unit of Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd.

The value of the contract was not disclosed.

“We sincerely thank Vestigo for their trust in MHB. Our partnership, which began in 2016, is built on collaboration and a shared commitment to delivering high-quality offshore solutions. We are pleased to support their development plans once again,” said MHB managing director and chief executive officer Mohd Nazir Mohd Nor.

He added that the award underscores MHB’s expertise and reputation in offshore oil and gas, reinforcing its technical excellence and cost-effectiveness in securing projects against regional competitors.

The wellhead platforms will be constructed at MMHE West Yard in Pasir Gudang, Johor, using MHB’s fabrication facilities and offshore expertise.

“As we move forward, we remain committed to executing all projects safely, on schedule, and to the highest industry standards,” Mohd Nazir added.

At the time of writing on Monday, MHB shares were unchanged at 37 sen, valuing the company at RM592 million.
