Datuk Farhash Wafa Salvador, former political secretary to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim
KUALA LUMPUR (March 17): Datuk Farhash Wafa Salvador, former political secretary to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, has discontinued his injunction application ahead of his defamation suit against former Umno information chief Isham Jalil.
The case centres on allegations that Farhash invested nearly RM40 million in a company shortlisted for a government contract.
Farhash's lawyer, Aswath Ramakrishnan, stated that the suit and injunction were filed in March last year, and there is no longer an urgency to pursue the injunction application.
The court has set trial dates for September 2026, with a case management session scheduled for April 23, 2025. Isham is represented by Chetan Jethwani.
Farhash is suing Isham over a TikTok video posted on March 17, 2024, titled “Kroni Anwar beli saham syarikat disenarai pendek kontrak imigresen RM1 bilion?”
Farhash, who is also former PKR Perak chief, is seeking RM1 million in damages and a retraction of the defamatory post, along with a public apology.
On March 12, 2024, Farhash became a substantial shareholder in HeiTech Padu Bhd (KL:HTPADU), a company reportedly shortlisted for the National Integrated Immigration System (NIISe) project, through his holdings in Rosetta Partners Sdn Bhd.
The move, however, courted controversy, and he ceased to be a substantial shareholder of HeiTech Padu about a month later.
HeiTech Padu was awarded the RM892.2 million NIISe project in October 2024.
