KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 7): Firefly announced the expansion of its jet operations from the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport with the launch of two direct flights to Kuching and Singapore.
The flights from the Subang airport, code-named SZB, will begin on March 24 to the Kuching International Airport (KCH) and Changi Airport (SIN), the airline said in a statement. Including the newest flights, Firefly’s jet operations now totals 28 weekly flights to four destinations, all on retrofitted Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
“Complementing our turboprop services at SZB, we aim to offer customers a travel experience that combines comfort, affordability, and efficiency while unlocking new travel opportunities,” said Datuk Captain Izham Ismail, the managing director of Malaysia Aviation Group which owns Firefly.
Apart from Kuching and Singapore, Firefly also flies to Penang (PEN) and Kota Kinabalu (BKI) on the jets.
To mark the launch of these new routes, Firefly is offering promotional all-in, one-way fares starting at RM219 for flights to Kuching, and from RM189 for services to Singapore. Included are complimentary 10kg check-in baggage, 7kg carry-on baggage, and in-flight refreshments.
For travellers seeking travel flexibility, Firefly is offering an upgraded "Flex" service that allows unlimited flight changes and includes 30kg of checked baggage.
“The launch of these new routes marks another milestone in Firefly’s mission to deliver enhanced connectivity and convenience,” Izham added.
