KUALA LUMPUR (May 23): Chinese vehicle manufacturer Chery's Jaecoo is committed to enhancing its service network in Malaysia and has signed 30 dealers in the country.

In a statement on Tuesday, the carmaker said Malaysia has recently overtaken Thailand to become Southeast Asia's second-largest auto market, after Indonesia.

It said the major shift is a positive indicator of Malaysia’s attractiveness among automakers.

Jaecoo Malaysia president Leo Chen said Jaecoo Malaysia is committed to long-term growth in Malaysia backed by a strong service network.

“Hand-in-hand with our dealer partners, we are excited to deliver best-in-class vehicles equipped with innovative technology and the absolute best customer experience to the Malaysian market.

“Our brand philosophy, ‘From Classic, Beyond Classic’ clearly outlines our aim to redefine attainable luxury as a challenger SUV brand. As you can see Jaecoo is prepared to make its mark in Malaysia,” said Chen.

Chen said the 30 dealers will operate a total of 35 dealerships responsible for the distribution and after-sales service of Jaecoo premium SUVs across the central, northern, southern, and east Malaysia regions.
