KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 18): Grab Malaysia said it has seen a "good number" of its active delivery partners benefitting from the new earning structure in the past few days.
The e-hailing and delivery service provider said in a statement on Friday these partners have benefitted from the peak hour incentives and received fairer compensation for time spent and distance travelled to complete their jobs.
The delivery platform said the new earnings structure is part of its commitment to foster economic growth for all Malaysians.
“For our delivery-partners, we do this by ensuring they have a steady stream of earning opportunities from our platform and they are fairly compensated for every booking they complete.
Grab added that it will continue to keep investing in promotions like GrabUnlimited, HotDeals, Kombo Jimat, particularly during peak demand periods to boost demand and ensure that its delivery partners can consistently earn on its platform.
The statement comes after riders were urged to boycott Grab over the company's revamped delivery fee and bonus framework.
Under the revamped framework, base fares have been reduced while incentives for peak-hour deliveries, distant pick-ups and extended wait times to pick up deliveries have been increased.
Grab said this will ensure that bookings requiring more time and effort would be "more fairly compensated".
The platform said it will continue to engage with its delivery partners to help them understand and gather feedback on its new earnings structure.
“As a platform, we’re committed to providing Malaysians with accessible earnings opportunities that are both flexible and sustainable.
“We sincerely thank our delivery-partners for engaging with us in a constructive and peaceful manner,” it said.
