KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 12): Just one week after being appointed to the board of Sentoria Group Berhad, former senator Datuk Dr Ras Adiba Radzi has now assumed the role of the company's new independent and non-executive chairman.

This change comes as part of a series of boardroom shuffles, according to bourse filings on Friday.

In one of the filings, Sentoria announced that Ras Adiba will replace Datuk Abdul Rahman Imam Arshad, who will now serve as an independent and non-executive director.

Ras Adiba, 55, was initially appointed to the board on Jan 5, along with Lim Zhao Qi and Lim Poh Seong.

Ras Adiba previously served as a senator during the tenure of former Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, from May 2020 to May 2023. She reportedly joined Bersatu in 2023.

She also held the position of chairman at the National News Agency of Malaysia (Bernama) from 2020 to 2023, bringing with her 37 years of experience in broadcasting.

In a separate filing, Sentoria announced the appointment of Datuk Loh Yuen Tuck as the new Group Chief Executive Officer. Loh, 60, holds a degree in economics and accounting from the London School of Economics (University of London).

Sentoria highlighted Loh Yuen Tuck's extensive experience, spanning mergers and acquisitions, successful research and investments at Quilter Goodison London UK, SJ Securities Malaysia, Jupiter Securities, Phileo Preregrine Securities, Sun Hung Kai Hong Kong, and Robertson Stephens Inc.

Shares in Sentoria remained unchanged at 7.5 sen on Friday, translating into a market capitalization of RM46.72 million.
