KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 5): Property and hospitality company Sentoria Group Bhd has appointed three new independent and non-executive directors Datuk Dr Ras Adiba Radzi, Dr Lim Zhao Qi and Lim Poh Seong in its latest boardroom shuffle.

The appointment follows a slew of boardroom changes in the company that occurred between March and November last year, which ultimately saw the resignation of four directors.

Poh Seong, 57, has a career that extends into auditing, finance and corporate governance, Sentoria said.

The ACCA fellow member’s prior positions in healthcare, namely as executive director in Pantai Holdings Bhd and his current directorship roles in public-listed companies highlight his comprehensive understanding of business operations and financial management, Sentoria added.

Poh Seong is also on the board of Hup Seng Industries Bhd, and Samaiden Group Bhd, and has served on the board of Asia Poly Holdings Bhd.

Ras Adiba served as chairman of the National News Agency of Malaysia (Bernama) from 2020 to 2023, and she carries with her 37 years’ experience in broadcasting that aligns well with Sentoria’s need for diverse perspectives, the company said.

Ras Adiba also brings with her extensive experience through involvement in politics, journalism and advocacy for persons with disabilities (PWDs), it added.

Zhao Qi, meanwhile, served as executive director of European Credit Investment Bank Ltd. His expertise in finance positions him as a key player in driving financial innovation and strategies, Sentoria said.

Last year, Sentoria saw the appointment of five directors between February and November.

Two of them — Chow Zee Neng, 55 and Gan Book Koo, 61 came on board in February and March, but both resigned shortly after in July.

Another executive director, Datuk Chu Boon Tiong, 51, was appointed in May but resigned in November. That month, independent director Wong Yoke Yen also resigned following an extended tenure of over nine years.

In November, Sentoria appointed Datuk Seri Ngu Tieng Ung, 56, as executive director. Meanwhile it also appointed Datuk Seri Dr Mohmad Isa Hussain, 65, as independent director.

There has not been significant changes in Sentoria’s shareholding since late 2022. In 2022, TWL Capital Bhd emerged as a substantial shareholder temporarily from May till December.

Sentoria’s largest shareholders are Datuk Chan Kong San and Datuk Gan Kim Leong, who own a 39.37% indirect stake through Sentoria Capital Sdn Bhd.

Shares of Sentoria Group Bhd closed unchanged at nine sen, giving it a market capitalisation of RM56.07 million.
