KUALA LUMPUR (July 27): Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said a special 15% income tax rate will be granted to eligible skilled workers and companies as part of the government's efforts to develop a special financial zone in Iskandar Malaysia, Johor.
In addition, the government will also offer immigration fast-lane facilities to ease the entry of skilled workers from abroad, he said in his speech at the launch of the Ekonomi Madani economic plan here on Thursday (July 27).
He said the special financial zone in Iskandar Malaysia will be competitive in order to attract international investors and knowledge workers to reside in Malaysia.
The special financial zone was first announced in Budget 2023 that he had tabled in his capacity as the finance minister in February.
