<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>KUALA LUMPUR (April 7): Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) said that its upstream unit Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd (PCSB) confirmed a gas leak incident occurred at its Bekok-A platform offshore Terengganu at 2.45am Tuesday (April 4).</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>In a statement, PCSB said it has evacuated all personnel from the platform.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>“Our Emergency Response Team has been mobilised to contain the situation,” it said.</p></div><div class=inPageAd id=div-gpt-ad-inpage></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>“PCSB has also suspended operations at Bekok-A platform until further notice and is closely monitoring the situation,” it added.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>“We would like to assure that the safety of our personnel remains an utmost priority. All relevant authorities have been notified and an investigation is currently underway,” it added.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>According to reports, Bekok-A — an 8-legged Central Processing Platform (CPP) — operates at the Bekok field 250km offshore Terengganu alongside Bekok-B and C platforms.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>Bekok-B is an unmanned remote platform, which sends full well stream production for processing to Bekok-A, whereas gas produced from Bekok-A is processed at Bekok-C platform.</p></div>
