KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 12): Datuk Dr Teo Tong Kooi has resigned as Rubberex Corporation (M) Bhd chairman effective today.
Dr Teo, 63, who had helmed the group since September last year, resigned “to pursue personal
interests”, Rubberex said in a Bursa Malaysia filing.
In a separate filing, the glove manufacturer announced the appointment of YKGI Holdings Bhd chairman Chong Jee Min @ Liew Jee Min as its new chairman.
Chong, 62, is the vice president of the Klang Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, among others, and holds directorships in several public-listed companies including JAKS Holdings Bhd, Parkson Holdings Bhd and Hextar Global Bhd.
Chong, who has 35 years of experience as a legal practitioner, is the managing partner of the legal
firm JM Chong, Vincent Chee & Co, the group said.
Shares in Rubberex ended unchanged at 83 sen today, valuing the group at RM755.34 million. Year to date, the stock has fallen by 38.52%.
