Johorean Lobster Briyani Gam @ Pince & Pints

A quintessential destination for lobster that has been a popular dining spot in recent times, Pince & Pints is introducing a mouth-watering combination for this coming Ramadan: The Lobster Briyani Gam and Buzzy Bandung. It’s a classic Johorean dish first introduced in the 1880s by Johor’s first menteri besar, Datuk Jaafar Muhammad (grandfather of Tun Hussein Onn) which is now brought back to life by one of the restaurant’s directors, who is a descendant of the respected statesman. Paired with the tantalising lobster dish is another Datuk Jaafar family favourite — Buzzy Bandung, a rose syrup concoction made with evaporated milk and topped with ice cream soda for a velvety finish with a slight hint of vanilla. Refreshing, thirst-quenching and in a vibrant hue of bubble gum pink, it is a staple during Ramadan in Johorean households. These two specialities are available from now till July 17. Pince & Pints is located at 32, Jalan Telawi 5, Bangsar Baru, Kuala Lumpur. For reservations, call (03) 2201 3233.
