KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 14): Texchem Resources Bhd shares rose 3.07% in thin trade this morning after it proposed to dispose of its 30% interest in Fumakilla Asia Sdn Bhd (FASB) and 26.36% interest in PT Fumakilla Nomos (PTFN) to Japan's Fumakilla Ltd (FJ) for a total of RM80.5 million.

At 9.23am, Texchem rose 5 sen to RM1.68 with 75,700 shares traded.

Texchem said the FASB stake is to be sold for RM61.5 million, and the PTFN stake for RM19 million.

FASB owns Fumakilla Malaysia Bhd and Fumakilla Vietnam Pte Ltd, which are involved in the manufacturing and sale of household insecticides, while PTFN produces and sells mosquito coils for local and export markets.

Texchem had earlier disposed of its 70% equity interest in FASB and PTFN to FJ for US$42.4 million (about RM178.6 million) on March 21, 2012.
