<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>Sunway Group founder and chairman Tan Sri Dr Jeffrey Cheah said the company&nbsp;is awaiting&nbsp;the Health Ministry's approval for the expansion, which includes a further increase in the number of beds later.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>“Everything is ready, just waiting for the Ministry to give the licence. Then after two to three years we will have a total of about 1,100 beds to become a teaching hospital,” he told a press conference in conjunction with the launch of HSBC Amanah Malaysia Bhd’s new branch at The Pinnacle, Bandar Sunway.</p></div><div class=inPageAd id=div-gpt-ad-inpage></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>Cheah added that Sunway also plans to set up six more hospitals, the first of which is already under construction in&nbsp;Sunway Velocity in Cheras and is expected to open in 2019.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>“We are opening the next hospital at Sunway Velocity and there will be 240 beds in Phase One while Phase Two is expected to have another 100 beds.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>“There will be another (hospital) at Sunway Damansara, two in Penang, one in Sunway Iskandar, Johor, and one in Ipoh. The investments amount to RM1 billion,” he said.</p></div>
