<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner>KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 12): Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation's (MDEC) former chief executive officer Datuk Yasmin Mahmood has joined the board of UMW Holdings Bhd. 
 
She has been appointed as an independent and non-executive director of the automotive group with effect from Wednesday (Oct 12), according to the group’s bourse filing. 
 
Yasmin was the CEO of MDEC from 2015 to 2019.&nbsp;Prior to joining MDEC, she was the executive director of YTL Communications Sdn Bhd. 
 
Yasmin currently serves in non-executive positions, including as the chair of Heriot-Watt University Malaysia’s board, and as director of Malaysia Industrial Development Finance Bhd and Bintulu Port Holdings Bhd. 
 
UMW’s share price finished up 1.67% or five sen at RM3.05 on Wednesday, giving the group a market capitalisation of RM3.56 billion.</div><div class=inPageAd id=div-gpt-ad-inpage></div>
