KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 7): GPP Resources Bhd's wholly-owned subsidiary Profina Plywood Sdn Bhd has received a forestry licence for sawmill (Class A) and a forestry licence for plywood mill from the Johor State Forestry Department (JPNJ) for Profina’s oil palm trunk (OPT) plywood manufacturing business at plywood mill in Kluang, Johor.
Loss-making GPP is a renewable energy and OPT product player listed on the LEAP Market. Profina is involved in the manufacturing and sales of OPT products.
In a Bursa Malaysia filing on Friday (Oct 7), GPP said the two forestry licences were registered under the previous owner who had operated a sawmill and a plywood mill at the same location. Profina now becomes the registered holder of these forestry licences, which are valid for one year and subject to annual renewal.
