KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 5): ViTrox Corporation Bhd (KL:VITROX) is upbeat after the semiconductor equipment maker posted its best quarter since listing in 2005, as higher volume drove down unit costs.
Net profit for the three months ended Sept 30, 2026 (3QFY2026) was RM118.6 million, more than tripled from RM34.7 million a year earlier, according to an exchange filing. Revenue was up more than 110% year-on-year to RM485.1 million.
Looking ahead, ViTrox expects a favourable business environment for the remainder of the financial year and into 2027, supported by robust growth in the semiconductor sector, continued investment in data centre infrastructure and rising demand for edge artificial intelligence (AI) devices.
The company — which makes machines used to automatically inspect and detect defects in semiconductor components and printed circuit board assemblies — said it is seeking to capture a slice of the increasing complexity of AI accelerators and high bandwidth memory.
Net profit in the first nine months of the year also jumped to RM254.8 million from RM87 million a year earlier, supported by sustained capital expenditure deployment from strong AI infrastructure demand and electronics manufacturing customers.
Revenue for the period also more than doubled to RM1.13 billion from RM552.7 million.
“The group will continue to exercise prudent cost management and operational discipline to mitigate potential risks from foreign exchange volatility and geopolitical uncertainties,” ViTrox said.
No interim dividend was declared for the quarter under review, though the company had paid out 1.18 sen per share in July.
Shares of ViTrox ended Thursday at RM10.60, down 30 sen or 2.8%, giving the Penang-based company a market capitalisation of RM20 billion ahead of the results announcement.
