(Nov 5): Hon Hai Precision Industry Co reported a 46% jump in October sales, reflecting resilient demand for the Nvidia Corp servers central to a global artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure build-out.

Revenue rose to NT$1.31 trillion (US$39.7 billion or RM161.0 billion) last month, Hon Hai said in a statement. Analysts on average were looking for about a 30% increase in sales over the three months ending December.

Hon Hai’s financials have been buoyed by the construction of data centres around the world over the past two years. Investors use the Taiwanese company’s sales to help assess an AI sector increasingly weighed down by concerns about overcapacity, rising debt and regulation.

The Taiwanese company’s share price is up just 2% since the beginning of the year, giving up much of its 2026 gain following recent volatility in tech stocks.

The Taipei-based company, also known as Foxconn, still derives a significant chunk of its revenue from a lower-margin business for Apple Inc.

Hon Hai is the primary iPhone manufacturer with assembly facilities in China and India, although Apple is diversifying with the likes of Luxshare Precision Industry Co.
