BANGKOK (Nov 5): Thailand's central bank governor Vitai Ratanakorn said on Thursday that a 2% rate of growth was not enough to sustain the economy.
The central bank has forecast growth of 2.4% this year and 2.1% next year.
The economy may slow early next year after the end of government stimulus measures, he said.
A change in the methodology of Thailand's manufacturing production index is expected to boost growth by 0.1 to 0.5 percentage points.
He reiterated that cutting rates would not help address Thailand's structural problems.
Last week, the central bank left its key interest rate unchanged at 1.00%.
