KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 4): The price of RON97 petrol will fall by 20 sen per litre, while unsubsidised RON95 petrol and diesel will decline by 15 sen per litre from Nov 5 to 11, amid easing global oil prices.

RON97 will drop 4.08% to RM4.70 per litre from RM4.90, while unsubsidised RON95 will fall 3.39% to RM4.27 per litre from RM4.42, the Ministry of Finance (MOF) said in a statement on Wednesday.

The price of unsubsidised diesel will decrease by 2.85% to RM5.12 per litre from RM5.27.

The MOF said regional petroleum markets showed signs of easing following an increase in refined fuel supplies, including petrol and diesel inventories in Singapore, which serve as key benchmarks for Malaysia's fuel pricing.

The decline in Brent crude oil prices towards the end of the automatic pricing mechanism calculation period also pointed to easing price pressures.

However, the ministry cautioned that geopolitical uncertainties in West Asia continued to pose risks to global petroleum price stability.

Meanwhile, eligible recipients under the Budi Madani RON95 (Budi95) programme will continue to pay RM1.99 per litre. The government subsidy amounts to RM2.28 per litre, or 53% of the unsubsidised price.

Recipients under the Budi Madani Diesel programme will continue to pay RM2.10 per litre, representing a government subsidy of RM3.02 per litre, or 59% of the unsubsidised price.

The subsidised prices under the Subsidised Petrol Control System (SKPS) and Subsidised Diesel Control System (SKDS) will remain unchanged at RM2.05 and RM2.15 per litre respectively.

The MOF reiterated the government's commitment to protecting households and businesses from global fuel price volatility through targeted subsidies.

As announced in Budget 2027, fuel subsidies are expected to remain at around RM40 billion next year to help ease cost-of-living pressures.
