KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 4): Sunway Group made its debut at 26th on Fortune’s 100 Best Companies to Work For in Southeast Asia 2026 list, becoming the only Malaysian-headquartered company to make the list.
“Our journey over the years has been built on trust, guided by our core values of integrity, humility and excellence. These qualities will continue to guide our path as we grow alongside the communities we serve, and create opportunities for generations to come,” said Sunway Group founder and chairman Tan Sri Jeffrey Cheah in a release Wednesday.
The award is produced by Fortune and Great Place To Work, with the ranking based on confidential feedback from more than 1.32 million employees across 10 Southeast Asian countries.
Great Place To Work is a global workplace culture consultancy that evaluates employee experiences and recognises companies with strong workplace environments.
Employees assess their workplace through 60 statements and two open-ended questions that cover the topics of trust, leadership, respect, fairness and pride.
Only companies that are Great Place To Work-certified and have at least 200 employees in the region are qualified. 2026 marked the second consecutive year Sunway Group secured the Great Place To Work certification.
Beyond general feedback and scores, Fortune also sees how consistent the positive experiences are shared among employees across roles, seniority levels and demographic groups.
Sunway Group was also named one of Malaysia’s Best Managed Companies 2026 by Deloitte for its fifth consecutive year, and its executive deputy chair Datin Paduka Sarena Cheah was named one of Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Asia 2026.
