KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 3): Yinson Holdings Bhd's (KL:YINSON) green technology arm Yinson GreenTech has partnered with Saxon Renewables to generate carbon credits from its electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure in Malaysia.
In a statement on Tuesday, Yinson GreenTech said it had signed a participation agreement to join EVolve, a carbon programme developed by Saxon Renewables that allows eligible EV charging infrastructure to be grouped under a single project to generate verified carbon credits.
The programme was registered under Verra's Verified Carbon Standard in November 2025, with carbon credits to be issued subject to independent verification of emissions reductions.
Under the partnership, Yinson GreenTech will integrate eligible charging infrastructure into the programme, strengthen its data collection and monitoring systems, and work towards obtaining carbon credits.
The company also plans to expand its EV charging network and fleet electrification activities, while exploring opportunities to extend the programme across its wider electric mobility portfolio.
“By participating in Saxon Renewables' EVolve programme, we can channel this value into a stronger charging network and better fleet electrification solutions to our customers,” said Yinson GreenTech managing director of EV charging and leasing Kelvin Soon.
Meanwhile, Saxon Renewables managing director Reik Ong said the programme aims to turn measurable emissions reductions from EV charging into carbon credits that could support further investment in charging infrastructure.
The partnership marks the first technology-based carbon project undertaken under Yinson's Carbon Project Framework, which guides the group's selection of carbon-related opportunities and partners.
Yinson’s shares closed down two sen or 0.89% to RM2.22 on Tuesday, valuing the group at RM7.14 billion.
