KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 28): Sunway Bhd (KL:SUNWAY) has secured bondholders’ approval to replace Malaysian Rating Corp Bhd (MARC) with RAM Rating Services Bhd as the credit rating agency for its sukuk programme.
In a bourse filing on Wednesday, Sunway said it had obtained the requisite approvals from bondholders of its commercial papers and medium-term notes programmes, covering the group and its subsidiaries.
Following the approvals, Sunway issued notices to MARC on Wednesday to terminate its services as the credit rating agency.
Sunway announced RAM’s appointment as the new credit rating agency on Aug 28, but did not disclose the reason for the change. On Sept 8, RAM assigned the group an AA1/Stable/P1 corporate rating.
Shares of Sunway closed six sen or 1.4% higher at RM4.35 on Wednesday, valuing the conglomerate at RM29.6 billion.
