KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 28): Pantech Group Holdings Bhd (KL:PANTECH) on Wednesday reported a 33.1% rise in second-quarter net profit on stronger contributions from its manufacturing division.
Net profit for the three months ended Aug 31, 2026 (2QFY2027) increased to RM19.39 million or 2.33 sen per share from RM14.57 million or 1.76 sen per share a year earlier, according to the industrial pipes supplier's bourse filing.
Quarterly revenue grew 23.8% year-on-year to RM281.5 million from RM227.4 million.
The manufacturing division, which contributed 62.2% of the group's revenue, saw higher sale volumes and improved selling prices in export markets, as higher tariffs and raw material costs were passed on to customers. Its profit before tax (PBT) jumped 78% to RM26.7 million.
However, the trading division's PBT declined 26% despite a higher revenue, due to pricing pressures and a lower-margin product mix.
For the six-month period, Pantech reported a 43.6% rise in net profit to RM36.6 million from RM25.5 million a year earlier, driven by a stronger contribution from the manufacturing division which offset weaker earnings at the trading division.
Half-year revenue increased 15.2% to RM516.2 million from RM448.1 million.
Pantech declared a first interim dividend of three sen per share, payable on Dec 23.
On prospects, Pantech said sustained energy demand and global oil and gas capital spending are expected to support its business.
At the same time, the group remains cautious amid macroeconomic uncertainties, including shifting trade policies, geopolitical tensions, supply chain disruptions and cost pressures.
To mitigate these risks, Pantech said it would maintain pricing discipline, manage tariff and raw material cost fluctuations, and improve cost efficiency and operational effectiveness.
"These efforts will reinforce its position as a leading provider of pipes, valves, and fittings solutions for the oil and gas, petrochemical, and industrial sectors," the group said.
Pantech Group shares closed unchanged at 67 sen on Wednesday, valuing the group at RM578.8 million. The counter is down 1.5% over the past one year.
