KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 27): The participation of young candidates from Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) in the Melaka state election offers fresh ideas and new perspectives, facilitating engagement with the public through a more dynamic approach.

PKR secretary general Datuk Dr Fuziah Salleh said the party’s young candidates not only bring new perspectives but also possess the credibility and capability to drive change and serve the interests of the people.

She noted that it is premature to conclude that the prospects for PKR and Pakatan Harapan (PH) in the election are slim, as some political analysts have predicted.

"I believe that current political developments should not be viewed selectively. The public is not only evaluating the contesting parties but also assessing the performance, stability, and competence of those seeking a mandate to govern.

"We are aware that the challenges are significant, and we have never assumed that victory would come easily. However, one should not be too quick to dismiss the ability of Keadilan and Pakatan Harapan to challenge the status quo," she said in a Facebook post on Tuesday.

Fuziah added that she personally witnessed the dedication of the party machinery during her visits to all nine main operations centres for the state constituencies contested by PKR.

She noted that the party machinery is working hard, with great commitment and discipline, to ensure that every constituency receives the necessary attention.
