KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 27): AME Elite Consortium Bhd (KL:AME) has secured a RM120 million contract to build a manufacturing and testing facility in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan, for sustainable cooling solutions provider Baltimore Aircoil Co (BAC).

In a statement on Tuesday, the industrial space solutions group said its construction arm, AME Construction Sdn Bhd, received the contract from project owner Rock Link Sdn Bhd.

Spanning about 30,000 sq m, the facility is scheduled for handover within 14 months. It will serve as BAC’s Asia-Pacific regional technical hub and be operated by BAC Malaysia Sdn Bhd upon completion.

Located in Kawasan Perindustrian Nilai, the development comprises a single-storey detached factory, a two-storey regional engineering office and ancillary support buildings, AME Elite said in a bourse filing.

AME Elite said the facility is expected to support growing demand from high-density data centres, artificial intelligence ecosystems and advanced semiconductor manufacturing across the region.

The project follows BAC’s announcement in August of a US$150 million (RM613.26 million) investment over 10 years in the region.

“As global technology supply chains evolve, Malaysia is seeing growing demand for purpose-built industrial facilities that can be delivered efficiently and to high technical standards,” said AME Elite executive director and group CEO Dylan Tan Teck Eng.

He said the group’s in-house industrial construction capabilities enable it to deliver complex facilities within accelerated timelines while meeting multinational customers’ requirements.

The contract strengthens AME Elite’s external construction and engineering order book, which stood at RM485.7 million as at June 30.

AME Elite shares closed unchanged at RM1.30 on Tuesday, giving the group a market capitalisation of RM832.87 million.
