KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 27): Eco-Shop Marketing Bhd (KL:ECOSHOP) posted a higher net profit for the first quarter, buoyed by store expansion and a rise in customer transactions.
Net profit for the three months ended Aug 31, 2026 (1QFY2027) rose 7.5% to RM63.19 million from RM58.76 million a year earlier. Revenue for the quarter grew 16% to RM793.68 million from RM684.33 million, according to the company’s filing with Bursa Malaysia.
The dollar-store retailer added 15 stores during the quarter, bringing its total network to 477 outlets as at Aug 31, 2026, up from 391 in the same period a year earlier.
Sales transactions increased 19.1% to 34.9 million, supported by the expanded network.

In a separate statement, Eco-Shop chief executive officer Jessica Ng said same-store sales growth returned to positive territory during 1QFY2027 as the group continued to expand its footprint and improve the performance of existing outlets.
Eco-Shop is also refreshing existing stores and using data analytics to better understand customer behaviour. These efforts will be complemented by a new customer relationship management programme scheduled for launch in the current financial year.
Looking ahead, Ng reiterated that the group aims to open another 100 stores in FY2027, following the addition of 100 outlets in FY2026.
“As the group continues to grow amid a backdrop of evolving operating costs, the focus remains on pursuing growth efficiently while maintaining a disciplined approach to cost management.
“Direct sourcing capabilities, economies of scale and financial discipline remain the cornerstones of Eco-Shop’s strategy to pursue sustainable and profitable growth while preserving the value proposition,” she added.
Shares of Eco-Shop closed up two sen or 1.42% at RM1.43 on Tuesday, giving it a market capitalisation of RM8.24 billion.
