KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 26): ACE-Market bound MyDCD Bhd is optimistic there is demand for its core engineering services outside the Klang Valley amid a data centre boom across the country.

Klang Valley projects made up almost all of the engineering firm's revenue for the financial year ended June 30, 2026 (FY2026).

“We will evaluate opportunities to come about down south or the northern side of Malaysia, we will explore opportunities after the listing,” chief executive officer Chris Ow Yong told reporters at the company's prospectus launch on Monday.

MyDCD, which specialises in integrating mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection (MEPF) systems for critical infrastructure like data centres, has 15 years of experience in the industry.

The group currently serves clients operating enterprise and co-location data centres, with facility sizes ranging from 10MW to 20MW.

Addressing concerns about utility disruptions in data centre developments, Yong said such risks are unlikely to impact its operations and secured order book.

He said the company received projects only from clients that secured utility allocations from the authorities.

As at Sept 30, the group has an order book of RM1.32 billion to be recognised until FY2032.

MyDCD’s main customer is Binastra Builders Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned construction unit of Main Market-listed Binastra Corporation Bhd (KL:BNASTRA). It has a three-year relationship with Binastra Builders, with 85% of MyDCD's FY2026 revenue derived from the firm.

MyDCD's net profit has grown from RM16.8 million in FY2023 to RM66.8 million in FY2026, with a compounded annual growth rate of 58.4%.

However, its profit after tax margin has been narrowing from 11.07% in FY2024 to 10.61% in FY2025 and 10.03% in FY2026. As of end-June, the company has cash and bank balances of RM27.69 million with no borrowings.

The company is scheduled to list on Bursa Malaysia's ACE Market on Nov 17 with IPO applications to close on Nov 2. The exercise is expected to raise RM268.8 million for the company and its shareholders.
