KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 23): Yinson Holdings Bhd (KL:YINSON) said its joint venture with PetroVietnam Technical Services Corp (PTSC) has achieved first oil at Vietnam’s Lac Da Vang field ahead of schedule.
In a filing with the bourse, the energy infrastructure firm said its newly built, dual-fuel-powered floating storage and offloading vessel, FSO PTSC LDV, achieved first oil at the field in Block 15-1/05 offshore Vietnam on Sept 27, 2026, ahead of its original fourth-quarter target.
The milestone followed the vessel’s provisional acceptance on Sept 20, marking the start of its firm charter period.
The vessel is chartered to Murphy Cuu Long Bac Oil Co Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of US-based Murphy Oil Corp, under a 10-year contract, with options to extend for up to another five years.
Yinson said production at the field is expected to increase through 2028 as more production wells come online.
The group operates 11 floating production, storage and offloading vessels across 12 countries, with an order book of about US$19 billion (RM82.1 billion) extending through 2050.
Yinson shares closed one sen, or 0.47%, lower at RM2.10 on Friday, giving the group a market capitalisation of RM6.8 billion.
