KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 22): Foodie Media Bhd (KL:FOODIE) caps its first full financial year as an ACE Market company with a sharp rise in earnings, amid growing demand for digital content, influencer marketing and events.
For the financial year ended Aug 31, 2026 (FY2026), the group posted a 67.7% increase in net profit to RM15.67 million from RM9.34 million in FY2025. Revenue climbed 49.6% to RM55.49 million from RM37.09 million.
For the three-month period (4QFY2026), net profit surged more than 10-fold to RM4.55 million from RM0.43 million a year earlier, while revenue also jumped by 82.5% to RM15.82 million from RM8.67 million previously.
The group declared a second interim dividend of 0.39 sen per share and a special dividend of 0.61 sen per share, bringing the total payout for the quarter to one sen per share, payable on Nov 19.
This brings its total dividends for FY2026 to 1.53 sen per share, amounting to approximately RM13.6 million, representing 86.7% of the group's annual profit attributable to shareholders.
In a statement, Foodie Media said the stronger quarter was mainly driven by higher demand for sponsored content and key opinion leader (KOL) marketing services, alongside a higher number of events organised during the period.
“FY2026 was our first full year as a listed company, and we are pleased to have delivered record revenue and profit, with every one of our four pillars growing. Just as importantly, Creator, Commerce and Community now make up close to half of group revenue, which tells us the 4C model is working as intended,” said Foodie Media chief executive officer Nicholas Lim Pinn Yang.
The group said it will continue to invest in the 4Cs of Content, Creator, Commerce and Community.
Its community segment saw revenue increase more than sevenfold to RM7.1 million from RM1 million, supported by its inaugural Monie Fest and an expanded events calendar. Meanwhile, revenue from its commerce business rose 10.6% to RM4.4 million.
But the group's full-year gross profit margin narrowed to 53.8% from 59.9% due to higher contributions from event management and commerce activities, which carry relatively lower margins, says the company.
As at end-August, Foodie Media has a net cash position of approximately RM52.97 million.
The group expects its performance in FY2027 to remain positive, supported by continued demand for digital advertising, as it expands its content production, KOL network, affiliate commerce activities and events business.
"Going into FY2027, we will keep investing in our people and production capabilities as we work towards becoming the attention infrastructure of Southeast Asia," said Lim.
Shares of Foodie Media were up by 1.5 sen or 5.56% to 28.5 sen on Thursday’s noon break, giving it a market capitalisation of RM253.1 million. Year to date, the counter has declined about 39%.
