PUTRAJAYA (Oct 22): The Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) and TuJu's developer are working to identify the cause of disruptions to the navigation app, restore system stability and increase its capacity to accommodate more users.
In a statement on Thursday, LLM said the disruptions followed a significant increase in users after Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim encouraged the public to use TuJu as an alternative for road navigation.
LLM said it was also reviewing user feedback on navigation functions, route information accuracy and the overall app experience to guide further improvements.
“Improvements will continue to ensure that TuJu provides a more stable, accurate and user-friendly service,” it said, apologising for the inconvenience caused.
Introduced on Nov 26, 2025, TuJu is a highway navigation app developed by PCSB in collaboration with LLM. Besides route information, it provides traffic updates, information on facilities and emergency assistance for highway users.
LLM said it would continue working with the Works Ministry, the National Cyber Security Agency and other relevant parties to strengthen the local navigation ecosystem, in line with the government's emphasis on cybersecurity and national digital sovereignty.
It said data security and governance were among key aspects requiring attention, adding that user feedback and complaints would be taken seriously.
Updates on the app's recovery and improvements will be shared through LLM and TuJu's official channels. Users can submit complaints and feedback via email at [email protected]
Meanwhile, Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar said in a letter dated Oct 20 that the ban on the use of Waze by civil servants took effect immediately.
He said ministry secretaries general and department heads must ensure that all officers under their supervision, including those in related agencies, are informed of the ban and comply with it immediately.
